How can I register a group for the race

The preferred method of registration is here through our website – click here to register. Groups of up to 10 or more registering online will receive a 10% discount.

If paying by cheque who do I make it out to?

Cheques should be made out to Eventmaster

If I register people who don’t actually show up on the day can I get a refund?

Unfortunately no refunds will be made if people fail to show.

Can school groups enter and use this event to raise funds for school projects?

Yes we welcome school groups and many such groups have generated much
needed funds through the Cook Medical Mini Marathon in recent years.

Is the mini marathon exclusively for women or can men enter also?

As of 2022, this is no longer a women’s only event. Everyone is welcome to come along and run or walk in drag in order to raise funds for their chosen charity.

Can you register on the day to enter the race or does it have to be online prior to the day?

Yes late entries will be accepted on the day between 10:00am and 11:30AM but late entries cannot be guaranteed a race shirt as we have to confirm numbers well in advance of race day. So the advice is to enter well before race day.

This race is capped at 3000 entries so late entry is not guaranteed. Once all places are sold we can no longer sell any further entries.

What time does the Race start?

The 10KM race will start at 12:00 noon

 

The 5KM will start at 12:30

Where is the Start located?

The start area is adjacent to the University of Limerick Arena in Castletroy, Limerick.

Is there an organised Warm-up?

Yes, not to be missed, from 11:20 beside the Arena Building.

How will participants be allowed access the start area?

Participants must wear a race number.

Can I bring my dog on the run with me?

Yes as well as the baby in the buggy, however, people with dogs or buggies will be required to stay behind the runners / walkers.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Refunds will be permitted in certain circumstances up to 1 month prior to the event. If you request a refund please contact the event in writing.

No refunds will be offered inside one month of the event.

Cancellations will be accepted up to one week before the event. In such cases these entries can be deferred to the following year of the event.

No cancellations or deferrals will be permitted inside one week of the event.

When and Where can I get my race number?

Race numbers and Race Shirts can be collected at the UL Arena on the Race weekend. Saturday between 11:00 to 2:00PM and from the UL Arena from 10:00 on Sunday morning.

What do I need to produce to collect my race number?

Receipt from your online registration or Valid ID will be required.

Can I give my number to somebody else if I am unable to participate after registering?

No, for insurance reasons, numbers may only be used by people who have
registered.

Are there any special parking restrictions in place?

There are a number of Car Parks on Campus at the University of Limerick.

Neither the East Gate Car Park (No.9) nor the Car Park immediately adjacent to the Arena Building (No. 10) will be available to race participants on the day. Please arrive in good time and obey the event marshals on the day.

Will there be water stations along the route?

Yes, Water station at approx 4.5k fro those doing the 10KM.

Water  will also be at the Finish Area on the track.

Is there a different start place for runners and walkers, or does everyone start together?

All start together, runners at the front, walkers behind.

When does online registration close?

Saturday before the race if not previously sold out.

Are there prizes and what are they?

Yes, there will be prize money for 1st three finishers in the 10KM as follows:

1st Female – €200
2nd Female – €100
3rd Female – €75

1st Male – €200
2nd Male – €100
3rd Male – €75

There are no prizes for the 5KM.

Where and when will the prizes be presented?

The Prize giving will take place at the UL Track at 12:45

Where are the toilets located?

At the Start, at 5.5km and at the Finish area.

Where does the money from entry fees go?

Money from entry fees is used to cover the significant costs to Limerick Athletic Club of hosting this event. Everything from Insurance to Water to t-shirts and much more is paid for from Entry Fees. The event also provides essential funding to Limerick Athletic Club to operate on an annual basis.

I am participating virtually, how /do I need to upload my time?

As a participant you have the option – this is not a requirement – to submit your race time to our virtual leaderboard. This way you can compare your time to the submissions of other participants that decided to upload their time. The race time submission window will be open between Sunday 16th September – Sunday 2nd October.

Please follow these instructions, if you would like to submit your time:

  1. Log into your “Manage My Booking” Account (if your account is not yet activated, click here to view instructions on how to activate it)
  2. Click on “View Order” in you Virtual Cook Medical Women’s Mini Marathon event entry
  3. Click on the button “Submit Race time”
  4. Enter your race time through the dropdown menu
  5. Upload proof (screenshot/picture) showing that you ran this time
  6. Tick the box to confirm your submission is correct
  7. Click on the “Submit” button
